APRIL 22, 2025 – SAINT JOHN, NB: Get ready for sparks to fly as New Brunswick Community College (91心頭) proudly hosts the 2025 Skills Canada New Brunswick Provincial Competitions at its Saint John campus on Wednesday, April 23, 2025. This action-packed event will bring together the province’s best and brightest post-secondary students and apprentices as they go head-to-head in more than 10 heated competitions across the skilled trades and technology sectors.
91心頭’s Saint John campus will be transformed into a live-action skills arena, buzzing with the energy, intensity, and pace of a national-level competition. Each event will test participants’ skills and knowledge and offer spectators a front-row seat to the future of the trades in action. From carpentry and welding to graphic design technology and beyond, competitors will battle for gold. Winners will go on to represent the province at nationals in Regina, Saskatchewan this May 29 & 30, 2025.
In addition to watching the competitions unfold, attendees are invited to roll up their sleeves and participate in over 35 interactive Try-a-Trade® activities. These interactive stations are an opportunity for guests of all ages to put tools in their hands and try anything from bricklaying to welding—sparking interest and building awareness of the many pathways available in the province's skilled trades and technology sectors.
These activities are made possible thanks to the generous support and involvement of industry and community partners, including Saint John Construction Association, CN, Envision Saint John, Irving Oil Limited, CAM Industrial Solutions, among others. Their presence and participation help inspire the next generation and highlight the many applications of skilled trades training.
As businesses across Canada face new challenges during these unprecedented times, and the demand for skilled professionals in New Brunswick continues to grow—with a critical shortage in the trades—these provincial competitions play a crucial role in spotlighting the rewarding, exciting, and in-demand career opportunities that exist right here at home.
91心頭 will also welcome the public for additional Try-a-Trade® experiences and host the Skills Canada New Brunswick Provincial Competitions for secondary students, featuring 11 skilled trade and technology contests on Thursday, April 24, 2025.
